Bug #13628

rdoc json.gz files differ across builds

Added by bmwiedemann (Bernhard M. Wiedemann) over 3 years ago. Updated almost 3 years ago.

Target version:
ruby -v:
ruby 2.2.6p396 (2016-11-15 revision 56800) [x86_64-linux-gnu]

lib/rdoc/generator/json_index.rb inserts the build time
into generated .gz files,
so they differ across each build,
making it hard for distributions like openSUSE's
to create bit-identical binary packages when those are using rdoc.

See why that matters

We came up with the same patch for FreeBSD while working on reproducible builds there.
