ruby -v:ruby 1.9.3p125 (2012-02-16 revision 34643) [x86_64-darwin10] Backport:

Description

  1. download latest ruby
  2. download vim7.3 and built with ruby support
  3. run vim73, and type: ruby puts "ruby" at ":"
  4. Symbol not found: _environ

And my patch is in the attached file.

The patch seems fine, and hash.c has similar code already.
